DICE executive producer Ben Cousins has shot down rumours that upcoming free multiplayer action title, Battlefield Heroes, is heading to Xbox 360 and PS3.

"Contrary to rumours spreading around the internet in the weekend we have no plans to release Battlefield Heroes on either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360," explained Cousins.

He added: "Battlefield Heroes’ mixture of free download (funded by micro-transactions and advertising) and our extensive use of the web for social features means that Heroes is tailor-made for PC."

Battlefield Heroes is currently in a beta phase. No firm release date has been announced.
