Activision has released the names of several songs appearing in Guitar Hero 5, as well as giving some details on the new features. First a look at the new songs:
Guitar Hero 5 director Brian Bright had this to say on the game: "We have a lot of new indie artists as well and Iron Maiden as more classic rock or heavy metal. We've been trying to get the White Stripes and they have finally come around."
Guitar Hero 5 also has the much wanted feature of allowing multiple instruments in each band, meaning you can now have 3 guitars and a singer or simply 4 drummers. There's also a new "Party Mode" where you set up a playlist of tracks that run nonstop, allowing people to drop in and out whenever someone wants to play, so the music never stops. This sounds like a great feature to us, instead of having the radio playing nonstop you can have an actual interactive media going along.
Players may also change instruments or difficulty mid-game, making party mode that much better. "This is a perfect mode for parties," Brian added, "If you've played any of our previous games, getting into a game is kind of a pain, especially with multiple people with different instruments."
It seems Guitar Hero 5 is coming along nicely, and hopefully it will turn out to be a good sequel, unlike Guitar Hero: World Tour (where most people still prefer to play Guitar Hero 3). Stay tuned to catch the latest updates, or add in your own opinion with the comments feature.
