Guitar Hero is back! Activision's newly announced Guitar Hero 5 will hit stores this fall with "the ability to drop in and out of songs and change band members, instruments, and difficulty levels on the fly." Let's hope this time they decided to make the game better than the one that came before it. Personally, I didn't think we'd see another one of these games, but Activision proved me wrong not once, but three times. That's right, there's two more "Hero" games coming out this fall as well.

Band Hero is also announced. No, that's not Activision's copy of Rock Band; they already did that with Guitar Hero: World Tour. This is a dulled down, E10+ version of Guitar Hero. Created for the 20-30 families across the world that don't let their kids play the real Guitar Hero. This game is also going head to head with Harmonix' Lego Rock Band, which sounds way more fun, yet still childish (but still, it's Lego guitars!).

Finally Activision's third "Hero" game is DJ Hero. A show of hands for everyone who saw this one coming (though I had my money on "Rap Hero")? It's going to include "diverse music genres including hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica, and dance" and will "transform players into DJs who rule the club scene by creating original mixes of popular songs and music from the world's most exciting artists and DJs." The game will also feature a turntable controller. Picture below:

So there it is, of the three new games Guitar Hero 5 is the one that actually shows a bit of promise, though I'm still waiting on "Country Hero" myself.
