Who in the world could say that they’ve never heard of Apple's iPhone and the various functionalities it could offer? This phone is the hottest Smartphone on the market right now. Along with buying an iPhone, you’ll probably need these 5 applications to get you started.

  1. Facebook – Recently, there’s a rapid growth of Facebook accounts and users as well – I’m one. This free application provides a one-touch entry to your contacts, inbox, notifications, and profile. You can also chat with anyone who is online on your friends list. The key advantage is that you have to log in only once and you’re good to go.

  2. Shazam - This totally free lifesaver application! When you hear a song that you like so much and you don’t know the artist or title, this application will help solve your problem. All that you have to do is hit the "Tag Now" button while you’re playing the music and Shazam will do the rest. Seconds later, the artist’s name, song title, and record cover are brought right on your iPhone.

  3. Bloomberg – This is a free financial application which is essential for those who are market dependents and need to stay updated on stocks around the world. Bloomberg provides company descriptions, latest news, market trend analysis, price charts, stock quotes, top performers, and much more. It might be a headache at times, but it’s worth watching how you’re doing on the market.

  4. Movies – This application will let you look for theaters in your area for movie details, movie trailers, and show times of course. It is well-designed by a college undergrad and sold to Flixster having regards on details and quality. Best of all, like all other apps in this list – it’s for FREE!

  5. Calendar – Last, but certainly not the least is the Calendar application. I didn’t say that the best applications are on the Apps Store only. This built-in iPhone application is probably the most used application. You can use this calendar daily to organize schedules. After using this app, you probably wouldn’t be booting your desktop PC soon.
